In July 1991, he received the "laurea"
degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Brescia,
Italy, with a thesis on "development of design management facilities
within an electronic CAD system." From September 1991 to July 1992 he was at CEFRIEL,
where he received the master degree in Information Technology with a thesis
on "POIROT: Plot Oriented Instrument for Reasoning On Time". In September 1993, he joined the Dipartimento
di Elettronica per l'Automazione
(now Dipartimento di Ingegneria
dell'Informazione)
of the University
of Brescia, Italy, as a "ricercatore"
(Assistant Professor) in the Knowledge-Based Systems and Human-Computer
Interaction group. His main research interests are related to the fields of artificial intelligence
and knowledge-based systems and include automated
diagnosis, uncertainty
representation, approximate reasoning and computational argumentation,
autonomous agents and multi-agent
systems. He is author of more than 110 scientific
papers. |
